Compensated Work Therapy – Transitional Work Experience (CWT-TWE) is a vocational rehabilitation program that provides opportunities for Veterans with disabilities, other co-occurring disorders, homelessness or other barriers, to participate in a variety of job assignments in a structured, therapeutic environment.
CWT-TWE provides Veterans with a structured evaluation of their employment potential, attitudes, and capacity for work. Through therapeutic and educational strategies we strive to assist our Veterans in improving their vocational work skills, work stamina and the ability to work cooperatively with others. The ultimate goals of CWT include gainful community employment, increased independence, and enhanced quality of life.
In order to be eligible for the program, one must be medically and psychiatrically cleared to engage in work part-time or full-time and receive a referral from their medical/mental health provider.
Compensated Work Therapy – Homeless Veterans Supported Employment – (CWT–HVSEP) helps individuals with issues surrounding homelessness engage in competitive employment in the community. In HVSEP, the Veteran is provided assistance in identifying and obtaining competitive jobs based on individualized preferences and skills, and is then provided ongoing support and vocational assistance in order to maintain employment. Veterans enrolled in the Homeless Program should see their case manager for a referral to CWT-HVSEP.
The CWT program offices are in the Mental Health Service area - first floor, Red Tower.
