Caregiver Support
The Detroit VA Medical Center offers assistance to caregivers. Caregivers provide a valuable service for Veterans and are considered “partners” with VA in providing excellent healthcare. Extended Care and Rehabilitation
The geriatrics, extended care and rehabilitation program provides a dynamic array of inpatient and outpatient geriatric, rehabilitation and specialty care services. This includes the Geriatric Evaluation and Management Clinic, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Hospice and Palliative Care, and our Community Living (Nursing Home) Centers (Rehab, Respite, Hospice, Short Stay Skilled, and Long Term Care). HIV/AIDS Positive Veterans Support Group
The Positive Veterans Support Group is a social group of Veterans on a positive mission, serving as an organization to promote, support and impact on a personal level, members of the Armed Forces community infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. This organization offers educational, referral information and support to its members. The Positive Veterans Support Group also assists with the planning and execution of Annual World AIDS Day, every year on December 1st.

Polytrauma Clinic
The John D. Dingell VAMC has been identified as one of 3 sites in VISN 11 to establish a Level III Polytrauma Clinic. This is an outpatient clinic designed to evaluate and manage the care of Veterans who have sustained multiple injuries (both physical and psychosocial) while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and/or Operation Enduring Freedom. Sleep Disorders Center
The John D. Dingell Veteran's Administration Sleep Disorder Center has a 12-bed sleep laboratory. The center has been accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine since April 28, 1987.
