Parking
Patients and visitors should park in the Blue (South) parking deck located on the corner of John R Ave. and Canfield Street. You may enter the BLUE parking deck from either John R or Canfield.
Please note: this structure is closer to most appointments, registration, inpatient units, Community Living Centers, medical records and the pharmacy.
Detroit VAMC employees have been asked to park in the red (North) parking structure to accommodate parking for patients and guests in the blue (South) parking structure.
Parking is FREE to Veteran patients.
All others (including employees, visitors and contractors) must pay $10 to park in the BLUE parking deck.
Handicapped Parking
Handicapped parking is available in both the Blue and Red parking decks.
Police and Security
Detroit VAMC Police Officers provide 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots. For general police assistance, or in case of an emergency, please dial 63375. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
Our parking lots are also equipped with emergency phones that automatically ring the Police office when picked up.

The Lost and Found Department is located at the Blue Information Desk. If you have lost anything, please contact the Lost and Found Department at (313) 576-1000, ext. 65818.
